A delicate balance is needed to allow coral growth to mature, and this balance is being disturbed by rising sea temperatures. As reefs die, fish and other sealife is affected.

Divers familiar with parts of the world's oceans traditionally noted for their beautiful coral reefs are noticing a reduction in healthy coral reefs. One such area is in the Maldives, where this video on coral reef depletion was shot.
