Weather & NASA

NASA's space program has faced several weather challenges over the years.

In 1969, lightning hit Apollo 12 as it went into orbit severely damaging the exterior of the rocket and putting the lives of the astronauts in extreme danger.

Mike McKee of the University of Central Florida shows us what NASA has done to minimize that danger.
